What We Do: Charlie’s Angels Saving Animals (CASA Transport) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that serves as a bridge between southern shelters and northern rescues. Our mission is to save “at risk” animals from overcrowded shelters across Tennessee by transporting them out of state to our rescue partners in the north who have waiting adopters and fosters. We also operate a low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinic (CASA Clinic) that serves area shelters and rescues and low-income community members. Our clinic has partnered with local shelters to offer community feral cat surgery days and also surgery days for owned animals in specific counties. Our combined efforts of sterilization and transport are changing the animal welfare landscape in Middle TN and beyond by dramatically reducing the number of unwanted animals in this region. We recently launched CASA PAWS (Promoting Animal Welfare Stories) in which we endeavor to provide elementary schools throughout Middle Tennessee and beyond with engaging children's books that cover the core components of animal welfare. Education is an essential aspect of changing attitudes and improving conditions for animals.
